They were responsible for raising funds approaching $5,000 for a cause in which they firmly believe.

Staff members, residents, families and friends from Shipley Living and Foulk Living senior living communities in Wilmington, Delaware, and Millcroft Living senior living community in Newark, Delaware, joined forces to participate in the 2023 Walk to End Alzheimer’s last weekend. More than 50 people from the communities teamed up for the Wilmington event.

The fight against Alzheimer’s is genuine and personal to the participants. “Here at Shipley Living, we take pride in providing a better quality of life and meaningful engagement to our residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias,” said Samantha Oropeza, director of life enrichment at Shipley Living. “We do this every day through educational opportunities for our team members, support groups for our residents’ families, and fundraising. It is extremely important to us that we take a stand and contribute to finding a cure to end Alzheimer’s.”

“We unite to walk in honor of our residents…those we care for and those we have lost, and to support the family members caring for loved ones suffering from this disease. Together, we walk in harmony,” said Leslie Johnson, executive director of Foulk Living.
